I am sure the title may surprise you since this whole concept is about helping others, right? Well, we can not help others if we do not take precautions to protect ourselves. Thus, this section we will discuss strategies and protective measures.
Who to take as a serious blessee, and who to steer clear of: Sometimes we get caught up in the hoo haw of “Yes…Gonna help a soul today!”
Let me warn you, as I have worked in all kinds of fields from Homeless shelters, Mental Illness centers and done hardcore street hitting, there can be many dangers if one does not know the signs or what to pay attention to.
I will not have my Extreme Angels going out there unprepared!
First off, for our Women Angels, always carry some form of spray in your purses or pockets. (I suggest do not bring a purse at all. Baggy pockets are great to carry anything in!) IF at all possible, try to get some of your friends to be Extreme Angels with you so there are 2 or more. If this is not possible, I suggest not doing the hard core street work, but instead doing volunteer Extreme Angel duties. Duties that are in a safe zone. (However, if you happen by someone, per say, an elderly person who needs help and you feel the urge to Extremely help them, then by all means, just do it!)
For those Extreme Angels that are street smart and have that instinct of who is true or who is a con, again, keep some form of protective measure with you. Grouping is always better.
One suggestion is carrying a camcorder with you. In certain situations, it can redirect from a negative to a positive.
Now on the camcorder topic, I do not suggest you bring one to tape what you are doing in the beginning. It can be offensive to many. However, after you get comfortable and feel it would fit in with what you are doing, we would LOVE to have some videos to share! Extreme Angel Footage! What a way to share your blessings so others may join in!
